Transport for London has replaced the sub-standard cycle lanes on Lambeth Bridge.

For many years, cyclists campaigned for the replacement of the cycle lanes on the both sides of bridge, which were only 75cm wide. Finally it has happened.

The bridge now has a 1.5m cycle lane in the inbound direction. It is a mandatory lane with a solid line, meaning that motor vehicles cannot go in it.

On the outbound side, the cycle lane has been removed but the bus lane retained.

The expansion joints, which used to be a hazard for cyclists with narrow tyres, have now been filled in.
