Olympic Road Network: further details published

Millbank: cyclists will have to share the cycle superhighway with other traffic during the games.

Transport for London have now published traffic regulation orders for the Olympic Route Network (ORN) and Paralympic Route Network (PRN).

As we predicted in August, the main obstacle facing cyclists is likely to be the closure of the Mall and Horseguards Road for Olympic events.

The following routes will still, however to be open to cyclists:

We are pleased to report that TfL have now removed restrictions on certain cyclist movements at Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square.

Millbank and the Victoria Embankment may become more difficult to cycle when a Games Lane forces other traffic into the remaining space. ALternative routes via Lupus Street, John Islip Street, Marsham Street, Whitehall and the Strand may be more attractive during this period.

Overall there are fewer restrictions on cyclists than on taxis and delivery vehicles.
